A monolithic floor made using good design, the correct choice of anti-wear coating and state of the art installation, ensures a long life without additional maintenance costs. However, not all floors are always perfectly executed or their intended use may have changed with unexpected consequences. Therefore, statistically, it can be expected that, before any restoration work is undertaken, the following must be realistically achievable:
- 30 years for a flooring with a surface layer of 15-20mm thickness
- 20 years for a flooring with a surface layer of 10-15mm thickness
- 15 years for a flooring with a surface layer of 5-10mm thickness
That said, considering the more or less correct use of the flooring, it is necessary to consider:
Ordinary restoration
Good general maintenance and up-keep of the flooring, the anti-wear surface and the joint seals. (In the event of capillary cracks or joints seals not at floor level)
Recommended flooring: COVERSIP
Exceptional restoration
Work involving the replacement of or complete or partial re-laying of the surface layer and repair to the defective joints.
(restoration of large cracks, pitting, separation of the surface layer, overblown and out-level joints)
Recommended flooring: CHEMIDUR FX CHEMIDUR SP
Structural restoration
Work involving the complete or partial renewal of the flooring from its supporting base.
(holes in the concrete, demolition of parts of the floor, unevenness in the construction joints, craters etc., fragile and inadequate support structure)
Recommended flooring: DURSIL 1-5 DURSIL 5-10 DURSIL Tile CHEMIDUR ST
All three types of the above will find a solution in the use of SIPI Nord products or floors, ensuring a quick, safe and effective solution.
